Twenty years ago it was the beginning of the Jack Welch GE way to do business. You do not need a third of the people in the organization.. Work spreads out according to the numbers available ..or something like that..
also we had the bell curve of performance.. 80% met job requirements. 10% below 10% above. Jack theory get rid of the 10% below.. next year bell curve.. You better have another 10% below to get rid of... g
through those years many, many people were let go.. And many of them became very successful as they learn that you were no longer protected by the corp. for life... Today it is probably weeks. ggg
