Operation Iraqi Freedom is proof that Americans won't wait any longer for Iraqis to "do it on their own." Threats of total annihilation does that to people. 9/11 accelerated events when it became quite apparent to average Americans.......who are largely removed from government activity.......that the largest threat to the United States of America resides within the ME. Many, especially those within the ME, have condemn us for this war......we knew that would be the case......but this is our way of responding to the imminent danger we face. OBL made the intentions of our enemies in the ME clear. We are not so stupid that we don't understand that it is very basic.......it is them or us. M

"To begin with, the Iranians you talk with is not a proper sampling population. " ST, I wont bother giving you an old american saying because Ken will nail me for it. I refuse to have a foreign policy hostaged to middle eastern public opinion if what you say is actually true. You did a good job of dismissing an alternate iranian opinion--see above. Are you alone a proper sampling of iranian opinion? Not hostile, but when were you last there? Just curious. My guy spent much time over there last year and is a scholar. Iraqis coming up with their own solutions is a joke. If allowed to fester, the ultimate end would have been a mushroom cloud after they did something very stupid to us. They will appreciate the help later on I hope, as the japanese and germans did earlier---If we do the peace correctly of course. mike
