Every situation is different, and implied parallels are pointless. Yes, every situation is different but the parallel was not pointless. We are currently treating the symptoms of terrorism the same way we treat cancer's manifestations, by killing the bad cells. In my friend's case, the bad cells came back stronger than ever and more numerous, taking his life, a case that can credibly be applied to the terrorist situation as well. But while we treat cancer's symptoms, we are also working on a real cure by trying to discover the root causes. My hope is that we apply equal funding and vigor in trying to understand and remedy terrorism's root causes that we expend in eradicating its symptoms. (JohnM, Jacob, Sun Tzu and others have expressed this same sentiment, more eloquently than I). I hope and pray for your brother's continued good health.
