Wrong inference! After this war (or during it) I believe you will see a large INCREASE IN Middle East instability and terrorism, DIRECTLY AS A RESULT.

Iraq may not be even the second greatest offender but it is perhaps the best chosen target. Because of WMD, regime, etc.

It's just the easiest to vilify with a leader that can be
demonized. Old old book, new chapter, new gullible folks to be hornswoggled.....

Why risk the backlash of public opinion? I see your points, but they can easily backfire. In Europe as well as at home.

Absolutely! Huge risks, and it WILL backfire!

Instability there is a global problem.
You bet! and getting worse, daily.
