JB, Some approach things ideologically and have to weave events into their pre-conceived notions. We all do this at times. I spend my whole life evaluating and reevaluating my views based on everchanging info. I always have a headache and take loads of advil because of this. I dont claim to have any first hand knowledge about what iranian people think. The pen pal i sought out to discuss this with had a radically different view that Sun. The last question that i asked Sun which he did not answer(which was prefaced by saying to him not to take offense) was when he was in iran last? A key question in my opinion, because if he has not been there since Khomeni, his contacts may be only with other pacifist/anti US admin/euro oriented folks who all feel the same about the evil bush. My suspicion is that the iranian people know that a liberated Iraq will put additional pressure on their regime which may have short term negative consequences but hopefully long term rewards. Bush calling iran part of the axis of evil was not directed at the people, but at their govt/clerocracy and until they come off the shit list, there will be no US aid. Sun says they all want to do it themselves. Noble but impossible dream i am afraid. They all do need help. False pride is a sin, no? Maybe no flowers in iraq now, but perhaps a grudging thanks down the road apiece, when the roads are free of fedayeen and saddam posts and yes, safe to drive. Am i lucid or what?? Mike
