Well - forgive me if I use an old "trick" question... Can God make a rock so heavy that he can not lift it? Men use their intelligence to arrive at conclusion that *MUST* be right about God that are based upon the pride of man. Men will say "Is God SUBJECT to time?" They are setting up a dishonest question - the person who answer yes is then accused of making God "subject" Men will also say things like "If God is eternal how can time which is finite be a part of that eternity" What is eternal - is it a never ending life or a timeless life? Have you ever heard of the Onatalogical and Cosmological arguments? These were invented by the human mind. What one line of think goes like this..... 1. God is greater than anything 2. If an ever greater god can be conceived then God must be that for no god even if only conceived could exist therefore God must be greater than any god I could conceive of. I can conceive of a God that live outside of time being greater than one who must be subject to time therefore the True God must live outside of time. on and on it goes..... The unfortunate part of all of this. Many of these men who wielded such thoughts believed they were serving the church and Christ and dispelling unbelievers with their intellect. God is as He is. I am that I am God is not as we 'conceive' Him That is the road to Idolatry and ends with men worshipping a god of their own understanding. One may as well ask "Is God "subject" to righteousness?" Is a God that is subject to nothing greater? God is WHO He is not WHAT we perceive Him to be. What is TIME? Time is simply the expression of order. If 2 comes after 1 and 3 comes after both of them we have 1 then 2 then 3 - we have succession - we have time. Order does not exist outside of time. God does not exist outside of time or order. Time may have been "created" in a graduation sense. The sun orbits the earth every 24 hours - that is created. What is a long time or a short time to us is also a created thing. As the scripture say 1000 years is like a day to God and a day as a 1000 years. What that teaches is that God is not subject to 'hurry' Out time on earth is limited - God's time is unlimited. Unlimited time is not the absence of time. You can not have order or succession without the words before and after. 3 is before 4 and after 2 Before and after are time statements. When Paul said there was silence in heaven for the space of "about" half an hour - it is not a contradiction of anything biblical. It merely contradicts the concepts that men have forced upon their image of God. God always existed - there has always been order with God - there has always been time. Time is a part of the nature of God
