I do hope that I am in for a pleasant surprise.

What 'death' did Christ conquer?

Was if physical death?

We know that he arose from the grave but we also know that he died.

What DEATH did Adam incur?

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest
thereof thou shalt surely die.

Now here is a curious thing - most Christians will defend to the 'death' the idea that a "day" in Genesis is a 24 hour period and not a figurative day lasting thousands of years paving the way for evolution.

But - when it comes to this "day" they want to stretch it to include the day Adam died physically some 930 years.

I confess and am guilty - at one point I attempted to make the curse include physical death by proposing that Adam did
die physically in a judicial manner - but merely experienced it 930 years later. SO that I taught that Adam inherited physical death judicially under the curse..

Inheriting judicially is a far cry from what the verse plainly teaches...

for in the day
thereof thou shalt surely die.

Surely die does not equal inherit death.

The Gospel age is the REAL DEAL in the physical realm.

This is definately NOT the REAL DEAL in the spiritual realm.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen,
nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man,
the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Jesus WENT to prepare a place.

That PLACE is not some carnal kingdom on earth.

That PLACE is not being awakened into a millenium reign on earth
with a carnal throne and Jesus in a human body beating men with a rod of iron.

Our tears are already wiped away Al.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren,
concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not,
even as others which have no hope.

We hope for that kingdom that is not "of this world"

John 8:23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath;
I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

Put your mind on the things that are above.

Alan...

I was looking for some other verses that I might present to
you to show you that "ALL" plainly cannot always be
asserted to mean absolutely all or all inclusively.(same thing)

Here's just one...

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation
hath appeared to all men,

Certainly not absolutely all men had been presented the Gospel but...

I found this portion of a quote from Spurgeon that says
the same much better than I can:
___________________________________________________________
+
..." the whole world has gone after him" Did all the world
go after Christ? "then went all Judea, and were baptized
of him in Jordan." Was all Judea, or all Jerusalem,
baptized in Jordan? "Ye are of God, little children", and
the whole world lieth in the wicked one". Does the whole
world there mean everybody? The words "world" and "all" are
used in some seven or eight senses in Scripture, and it is
very rarely the "all" means all persons, taken
individually. The words are generally used to signify that
Christ has redeemed some of all sorts —some Jews, some
Gentiles, some rich, some poor, and has not restricted His
redemption to either Jew or Gentile ...
(C.H. Spurgeon from a sermon on Particular Redemption)
