Well, the old rule of thumb is that one should, at least, start from Mossadegh, 1951 to 1957, to
understand some of what has been going on in the modern, post colonial of the region.

Around 1967 one comes to the oil price.

Additionally one should set a special alarm to ring whenever words like "oil" and "nationalization"
is found. (Going back to WW1 when coal stopped being the way to propell war, and oil became the
more important one)
