I'm not crazy about the 2 party system but that's for another thread.

All governments, throughout history, tend to get those people who are the "assholes" of society, those who care more for themselves than the supposed moral themes they preach. They know how to manipulate the people who are too busy surviving, i.e., making money for bread in our country or escaping death squads in Iraq, etc., to really know what the government does.

What sets our government above the others in the world is that most American are hard working, generally do the right thing and when we see wrongs, wish to right them. A small percentage of that thought reaches the top and our leaders, if you want to call them that, generally go in the right direction. Is it perfect? NO. Can we make it better? Yes

But I wouldn't replace it with Sadaam, Arafart, Ayatollah or even the French puxxies.

Comparing Bush or any US leader to Sadaam really doesn't require a response.
