If Bush was intent on invading anyway, why did he even go to the UN? Yes, he would have been criticized, but he could have caught Saddam by surprise with a bunker buster and taken him out 9 months ago.

We were all hoping that first bomb which started the war would do the trick. Dis disappointment. Now Saddam is living six floors underground in a bunker no bomb can reach. He is daring us to fight our way through ten miles of city to get to him. And each city block could be an obstacle course of booby-traps.

I dont pity Bush, I pity the soldiers of ours who have to do this job because of policy. What would Reagan have done? Bombed first, gone to the UN later. Or just used the CIA to assasinate the bastard. This way, Bush gave the Iraqis nine nonths to prepare for our attack.

Maybe we shouldn't even go into Baghdad, just cut off their comms and control the rest of the country. We could lose 5000 men going into Baghdad. Not worth it.

See how smart diplomacy is now? We may win this war but now it appears we're going to lose the PR war and too many troops. And this may cause more terrorism. We'll be very lucky if it doesn't. Let's hope we get lucky.
