Bush is the first president to state he wants a
viable Palestinian state.
His theory was if the US got Iraq out of the picture
Israel would be feel less threatened and then all sides could talk. He also figured Palestinians would support his
path for their statehood.
However, the Arab and Islamic extremists are still in control and their public are following. They seem to be
wanting all or nothing and have rejected Bush's proposal.
So now I am beginning to think Bush needs to change approaches.
Saddam is setting up a stalemate:
1. Turkey restricts Kurd involement so the
Afgan model won't work yet.
2. US won't include Iran in the plan to help
in the South.
3. Saddam seems to be surviving bombing and may be
blowing up civilians for propaganda uses.
I noticed on the BBC that many reporters have been
kept from the site.
4. Saddam will hold cities hostage.
5. Suicide bombers will demoralize the US public.

let's switch strategies.

A possible revised plan.
1) we continue bombing his Rep Army,
(though Saddam has given up on them)
2) we pull back out of any contact with Iraq populated areas, and airdrop food and water in.
3) Get Turkey and Iran in to divide Iraq.
The Turks would get the North. The Kurds won't like it,
but with the choice between Saddam and Turkey, maybe they would take Turkey.
4) Iran would take the South. This is a risk making Iran stronger, but they are sounding more moderate and again it is better than having Saddam win.
5) Iran and Turkey would then help us take Baghdad and then create a third state.
