Derek, of course not. The active military don't write article in newspapers. And neither do cabinet members. Their advisory boards do, though.

I never read anything by Perle or any other pseudo-Administration official use the word "cakewalk." It's a straw man.

As to the rest, you've fairly well characterized the exaggerated hysterics of the media reporting. Of course the invasion would be resisted, the soldiers aren't "spending weeks in the desert waiting for reinforcements", and they certainly aren't "destroying each town they pass through" because of partisans sniping in the rear - as old as warfare.
