I know Bush is supposed to be confident and positive, but it's my "judgement" that he's been overdoing it to the point that it's counter-productive. A little more reality seems to be creeping into the latest statements.

Bush has a tendency to bend the truth when he is challenged or criticized. On Ken Lay of Enron - "Oh yeah, Kenny boy, wasn't he that Ann Richards supporter?" On the early days of CIA penetration into Afghanistan, when nothing seemed to be happening - "They're in hot pursuit of OBL."

During the presidential election the press would regale us with stories of one candidate who would tell little lies to make himself look better. Now refresh my memory, was that the guy who actually won the election, or not?

A little more hand-wringing before the invasion would have been useful.
