The people of Iraq are being held captive, many would
help us if they could. The US apparantly thought Saddams
general would give up. By waiting so long to invade Iraq,
Saddam was able to bring in outside thugs as well.

So we disagree on that. The one thing we should have learned from Vietnam is once we find something is not working then we need to change it fast. It appears the US
is now planning on going to concentrate on Baghdad. The advantage to that is we would get the top that way. However the risks
are high for civilians and US soldiers.

My thought is less risky but gives more power to Iran and Turkey, which could be risky. However, the risk is better than a pullout now. If we pullout now, the Kurds will be let down again and will weaken any alliance we have built
including Afganistan. So we could lose Afganistan again
over this.
