<Would Saddam become more magnanimous in the eyes of Islam population he doesn't use any biochem weapons? I mean, after his demise, would he look much grander because he has uphold his end of the truth with UN inspection declaration and confirm the "smokescreen" justification used for the war?>

He will use if he has them and when he will try to use it his own soldier may be the victims. The blame would have to be shared by the Allies. He is a definite hero of streets not really in fragmented society of Iraq ( if it is free) but in Arab street his Sunni credentials and strong man image is definitely a plus and have been established. This whole success or failure is based on wining hearts and minds, in my opinion in Kabul until Talebin and AlQaeda was rooted out no one came on the streets lost likely this will happen in Iraq too, the fall of Basra and Nasseriya has al to do with overall psychology of surrender.

Every day that passes his limitations are clearly visible and his plight sure. His strategy is go get the soldiers in, a reverse pressure to announce that Baghdad should be surrounded in 5 days, why should Iraqis announce this, they want to set the timetable and take the initiative away from the allies. The ever wrong media by claiming that campaign has stalled is asking the US military to get in that Iraqi trap of moving into a last 50 Km battle before the northern front activity fall of Kirkuk and pesh-merga move into Baghdad. The move in Baghdad without fall of Saddam and total defeat of republican guards will have to lead by Iraqi Kurds and other dissidents.

On separate note on this suicide bombing the US Army should import 5000 troops or volunteers from Kuwait to handle the check posts duties, they are Arabs, they know the language and they know the difference between a Bedouin Arab looking from help or a Iraqi thug of Saddam. This will eliminate the need of US soldiers being tied up in check points duty with three interpreters also his desire to derive a wedge between populace and US Army would be blunted.

Tommy frank should take his time, he should wear the resistance thin and remove the capabilities of the Republican guards, it is not about taking of Baghdad that is already insight it is about achieving the goal with least of casualties of the army and civilians. His only survival hope is to raise the cost of war so high that a compromise is offered.
