I had a feeling for quite some time we'd get into a drawn out ordeal like this. I'm not surprised at all on this kind of resistance. If Saddam doesn't use WOMDs and keeps his forces "protecting" the cities, its gonna get long and real ugly. That's the only way I see him having any chance of prolonging his rule. He's no idiot, quite clever actually...Sun Tzu says plenty about not underestimating your enemy.

Car bomb kills US troops I hate this for our boys, I really do. But what the hell did the Bushies think was going to happen when they sent our guys and gals over there? Its not like the ME has never seen a suicide bombing before. And actions like this, against troops, are not "terrorist" incidents, as Major-General Renuart described them, they are guerilla tactics. I fear we will never "win" this war, in the sense that more positive than negative will come from it.
