My point was that earnings are coming up.
If you feel it is wise to hold thru earnings on the basis of a chart then who am I to disagree?

How did the charts look in January before earnings?
MSFT IBM etc etc etc.

You can not deny the charts looked good then.
One after another after another good looking chart got hammered on earnings. How did the charts look a week ago Friday for that matter. Who was looking down then?

looking at the broader RIMM picture I do not see a great chart here at all, with pretty heavy resistance at 15.

This chart does indeed look better

My guesses...
Good earninsg RIMM rises $2
Bad Earnings RIM falls $3-4

My best Guess - Bad Earnings
I see no reason for sales of Blackberry units to be increasing in this environment of cost cutting.

From Yahoo Profile
For the nine months ended 11/30/02, revenues decreased 4% to $219.2 million. Net loss before U.S. GAAP rose from $19.9 million to $117.4 million. Revenues reflect lower sales of BlackBerry(TM) wireless solution and OEM radio Modems. Higher loss also reflects patent defense litigation costs, restructuring charges and a higher effective tax rate.
