Geopolitics is a complex game. Nixon played it extremely well, and was poorly-recognized. Reagan played it well, also. The result of the work of those two was the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War.

But most Americans fail to understand the game, and dislike seeing their leaders playing it. That has cost us millions of lives over our history. Reject the Clintons. Trust the Bushs. It pays off, in a better future...
