what balance sheet repair had there been?

A bit dated, but appropriate I think...

Don't overlook the 'hidden' balance sheet repair that takes place as companies/consumers refinance at lower rates even as under reported inflation surges beyond 7% yoy (did you read the Mogambo Guru rant(s)? Perhaps that inflationary burst is just a rebound from late 00 deflationary drop of oil pricing.). If I owe 100k at 6% and inflation runs 7%, my debt burden decreases 1% per annum in real terms.

I'm not able to find a vague memory/link that speaks to the hidden strength of consumer finances. If I happen on it, I'll post it to ya.
