Mark, it is interesting how Wall St economists take note of the disparity between NIPA profits and reported profits once NIPA looks better. Dr. Richebacher pointed out this disparity in 1998 or 99 questioning the quality and sustainability of earnings long before Wall St. wanted to notice. The write-offs are also testimony to the failure of investments ( malinvestment) which at the time of conception were promoted as the source of future wealth creation. TL & EV - more in store.
