Here's what you get for one dollar Canadian of ERF market cap

.063 barrel oil

.51 thousand cu. ft. gas

16 cents (Can. ) of debt

( i do the numbers in loonies - the figures come from their last annual report, I haven't doublechecked them all)

It'll take maybe 12 years to produce those quantities of oil and gas, so whatever you calculate as the value of the commodities, it'll take that long to get the money. Don't forget, it's not a dividend, it's mostly a return of capital - they are steadily liquidating themselves, though every once in awhile they do a takeover and sell more units to keep the game going.

I own it and sometimes trade it. Not sure if I want to buy more or dump it right now

Misheldo,
On ERF: Yahoo apparently has the wrong dividend rate. ERF is Canadian and from what I could tell, they are using the amount paid in Canadian dollars to get the 15% rate. Actual rate should be lower, closer to 10%.
