Under that subhead, within a war report, the FT says "insiders who have spoken with senior Pentagon officials, particularly the Army top brass, say there is growing anger directed at Donald Rumsfeld, defence secretary. "The officials claim Mr Rumsfeld dismissed their efforts to include heavier ground forces in the field before an invasion, although Mr Rumsfeld insists that the war plans followed thorough consultation with senior uniformed officers." They then quote Rumsfeld's lying rebuttal: "I don't know how anyone outside of the government knows what my views are, what General [Tommy] Franks's views are," Mr Rumsfeld said this week. "We've all been deeply involved and the plan has been a plan that's been approved by all the commanders." WIESBADEN, March 28 (EIRNS)--"I THINK WOLFOWITZ AND RUMSFELD ARE THE ONES NOW IN TROUBLE, following Perle's resignation, and as the talk spreads, that this war will last months, not weeks," stated a leading British Atlanticist, in a discussion today. "And don't underestimate the problems Tony Blair will be facing in the next days; the patience of the Labour Party parliamentarians will soon be running out." This source affirmed: "It is clear, that the assessments made to go into this war, were profoundly wrong. We are all now faced with a much greater price. I am going over to the United States to lecture, and I have to tell you, I will be very frank, to my audiences in Texas, Oklahoma, and other parts of the American Southwest. My message will be, that Rumsfeld has got to be contained, from making his wild statements, and that what Bush is doing, is just not going down well in Europe. He has got to learn, that the whole world is not Texas and the American military. If he keeps this up, there will be a growing reaction, too, from the educated Americans of the eastern and western seaboards, who don't like these crude Texan diatribes."rumormillnews.com
