And you dont understand democrats. Nor even moderate Republicans.

We are not "socialist". At least far less socialist than the UK, Canada or any other western country. But the New Deal and the Great Society were quasi-socialist programs. All "socialist" means is a government-run program benefitting all qualified people paid for by tax money. It's not a dirty word despite right-wingers trying to demonize it. It means Social Security and Medicare primarily. Both are being gutted by Bushies and they will pay at the ballot boxes in 2004.

Also these social programs are already paid for by taxpayers. To cut them now would be a grand ripoff of historic scale, ripping off the middleclass to reward the rich. Reverse Robin Hood tactics.

Nothing wrong with a little socialism. Cutting all socialism leaves a country with a weak middleclass, a defenseless underclass and a huge gulf between rich and poor. That makes for a poor economy, more crime and ignorance and is not democratic. In the US, anyone who supports no social programs will be voted out of office because a certain amount of socialism works. In the 90's it worked just fine.

And as for government spending, Bush spends more than any president ever and is promising us everything under the moon, half of which he will not or cannot deliver. He is promising healthy social programs in hisspeeches and gutting them behind his back. Same with the environment, promising to conserve then polluting and gutting protections behind his back. He's really a dishonest president. Talks out of both sides of his mouth, promises everything to everyone yet serves only one master, his cronies on the far right. His campaign promises must now always be taken with a huge grain of salt. Better yet, just get rid of the liar.
