Phase 1 is winnable I think with the top Iraqi leadership exiled or killed and the remaining army commanders signing a surrender. It's what happens after that that is the big unknown - Germany/Japan after WWII or Lebanon/Afghanistan/Bosnia.

What disturbs me about it is reports I hear from the press about the soldiers being happy and excited to shoot people and drop bombs on them. "We had a good day today we killed lots of people" is one quote. It should be a good day when the enemy surrenders or throws down their weapons and runs....

A lot of Iraqis are going to be killed before even phase I is over.

Naw, they'll get ole Saddam....

OTOH, wonder how many reletives he has in Bagdad to run around hiding out at? Then I wonder if they'll be able to install a good 'puppet'. Then I wonder if he'll be able to stay in office, and who's army will keep him there? Then I wonder if Bagdad turns into a very dangerous place for American soldiers to walk around in?

I'd like to hear some 'death to Sadaam' chants soon.
