Ben was talking about the possibility of some idiots one day establiching Social Security and Medicare programs. He figured that a diligent populace, properly armed, could easily handle a tyrant-but that the diligence against charlatans who would rob the treasury to pay groups to keep them in power was the real danger against the republic.

He was chillingly profound, but he was also visionary enough to see a renaissance that would run the charlatans out of our midst...
