I believe the thing the liberals don't understand, or at least, don't want to understand, is the connection between this war and 9/11.

There is no connection........that's how Bush sold the war to you all. Even if they find al Qaida operatives within the country, I don't believe Saddam was in on 9/11 with OBL.

I don't understand why conservatives don't get that Bush had to sell his war to this country and pulled out all the stops to do it. Its blatently clear to the rest of us.

But we were ALL naive. I think pretty much all Americans agree that on 9/11 everything changed.

You are still naive. The neocons in the administration have been advocating this for years. Sept 11 had nothing to do with it, beyond giving them a phoney excuse to proceed. I think that if it had not happened, they would have found another reason.
