Personally, I think he'll be arrested the moment he sets foot on American soil. He'd be wise to stay in Baghdad, where he's doing a great job for the current government.

Just heard about Arnett. Unfortunately the comments re: our war failings and making new war plans, seem quite true.

"Shock and Awe," we said. Tommy Franks himself said something to the effect that the American Iraqi war effort will be shocking, something we have never seen before. So far, this conflict seems an echo of Vietnam, where bright and willing American boys are made vulnerable to the enemy because Washington bureaucrats are more concerned with the opinions of foreigners than they are with the lives of our troops.

Each report I hear of some sandman capturing or killing our troops by exploiting our unwillingness to shoot civilians-- changing his uniform, martyring himself, surrendering falsely, or taking pot shots at our over-extended and thinned supply-line, I wonder if Washington has the guts to adjust. Surely we have lost only an inconsequential fraction of Iraqi losses, but our losses are not trivial especially if they could have been avoided.

Still, none of this gives Arnett reason to go onto Iraqi TV to criticize America before our enemies, boosting their morale. Those cussed savages actually think they are winning this war, though they die by the thousands.

I no longer support NBC and now will end my support of National Geographic. Their mistake of hiring Arnett is inexcusable, especially since Arnett acted similarly during the last war.
