Neo-conservatives are in some ways regressives, back to Cold War attitudes, in search of a new enemy really. 9-11 played into their hands. They wont admit is publicly but in the Wolfowitz, Kissinger, Pearle, Kristol think-tank sessions (all hard-line Jewish Zionists chickenhawks notice)they want to use the new GOP to knock off Iraq, Iran, Syria, etc., replace OPEC, protect Israel and dominate the region. A domino theory in reverse. The problem with this strategy is that it's enormously bloody and expensive, might blow up in our faces, create more terrorism, and make things LESS safe not MORE safe for America. Remember, though our support for Israel is strong, 9-11 played into the hard-line Zionists hands. Suddenly, they could say, "see the US and Israel have the same problems now". If you've seen how things are in Palestinian territories you get an idea how things might be for us over there is these ultra-hawks get their way.

Domestically, the neo-Bush GOP is also regressive. Fixated on oil and coal power, ignoring high-tech clean industries where the best jobs can be, using the old Reagan Voodoo Economics on us (which hasn't and wont work) and playing the old McCarthy era patriotism card. If you're with them you're American, if you're not you're un-American, communist (that's a laugher but they actually use it a lot), socialist, evil, a traitor, etc.

There's not a lot to like about this neo-conservative Bush bunch, but they are clever and rich.
