Dear Charles: I am certainly no Mideast expert, but I have had many Arabic friends from most of the countries, and I read a lot of what is going on. IMHO only the RADICAL FEW will be RADICALIZED. Most Arabs and Muslims that I know are CHEERING over this. They claim Saddam is hated by most of the Arabs over there but there is a fear factor that they cannot be HONEST about it until they get to America where they feel safe. I may of course be totally wrong, but at this point IMHO once this matter is settled and presuming we are successful in our TOTAL efforts, ie not just substituting one dictator for another, I think the USA will become VERY popular in the Middle East, I will even go so far as to say, wouldnt surprise me if WE become their PRINCIPAL ALLY of the PEOPLE. If this happens and we can negotiate a FAIR settlement for the Palistinians/Israelis I think peace may FINALLY come to the middle east and those RADICALS will be eliminated from within. That is my hope. Wont happen in a month or even a year, plan on our heavy involvement for MANY years. However, we can monitor progress as it goes on. JDN
