Ankara's price for cooperation constantly being increased to the point they talked themselves out of a bargain

Wrong! :-)

US finally accepted to give grants & loan guarantees of USD 30 bn. Government took the bill to allow US troop deployment to Parliament. The Parliament REFUSED the proposed deployment, also losing the offered USD 30 bn in the process. Read: No "talking themselves out of a bargain" at all, but more like getting the high offer they wanted and then refusing the offer anyway.

(Which I personally think was very stupid, but anyway. It was NOT increased price for cooperation yada yada).

So who will the Turkish people blame for not striking that deal??

Look at any poll. More than 90% are against this war and happy their country did not allow US invasion from Turkey, whatever the cost to their economy.

[Personally I think it was a mistake, by the way]
