Because our leadership was and is so inept, I see much more danger in prosecuting the war than in finding a semi-honorable way out. If our government could find some way to say it had won, and leave as quickly as possible, I think that would be much more beneficial to us, on balance. The longer we are there, on the ground, the more mistakes we are going to make. We might lose a little face, but I think we have the potential to lose even more going forward. The best thing we could do is have some other country step in to broker a deal that could be considered a "win" for Bush. I imagine by this point he realizes this is not the war he thought it would be. That is JMO of course.
