I agree. The Republicans are way too focused on foreign policy agendas that will help their corporate constituents and are neglecting domestic priorities. But, that's what the American people want; they voted for it. They want their hard earned tax dollars to go to destroy Iraq and then rebuild it again so Halliburton and the rest of the American oil empire can profit excessively. While domestic needs that might actually improve their lives are ignored. What a great program to vote for. Fools!

How can we support spending billions for healthcare for iraq when we have millions of uninsured Americans?"

Well... we really cannot take the word of Bill Clinton here. The man is a liar and I would have crisply mentioned this fact to put Clinton's comments in perspective. I have not yet looked at the Iraqi reconstruction plan, so I cannot take it on Bill Clinton's word that the plan includes universal healthcare as we understand the term.

Additionally, if it costs only $5 to insure country A, but costs $5 Million to insure country B due merely to the size differences between the two countries, then insuring country A is trivial and the mere fact that the cost of insuring B is prohibitive does not require we not insure A if our doing so promises to produce other bonuses for us.

Lastly, the lion's share of the funds to be used in the reconstruction effort will come from the sale of Iraqi oil resources. So if Iraq has universal healthcare, it will esentially be because Iraq will pay for it - a thing it can perhaps do because of its size and relative lack of societal complexity.

Hehe. Putting you in front of a TV with Bill Clinton on it, is like putting me before a bull moose with a well-sighted .300WSM. It's just no competition. I am such a good liar when in the field, the moose won't even know I'm there. Clinton is such a good liar period, that you don't even know when he is lying. So stop trying to think when Clinton comes across your tube. Just figure that when Clinton's lips are flappin', the man is lying...

The money we are spending on Iraq could fix our domestic programs. That is something to think seriously about.
