In the end, I think that this has much more to do with Saudi Arabia.

Iran has already gone through most of its growing pains. With a burgeoning middle class, the days of the zealots reign are numbered.

We have been forced to treat S.A. with kid gloves for too long. When and if the tide begins to turn in the region, I would expect our support for the Saud family to decrease proportionately.

The "final solution" sounds hugely risky and fraught with peril. Seems to play right into terrorist hands from a PR standpoint, while denying them some sanctuaries on the other. Is it worth it? Only if it works cleanly? Otherwise we could be heading from the frying pan into the fire. Hope there's peace after Iraq myself. If moderates in the US want it, they'll get it.
