Jim DJ ViroPharma Hopes To Find Compound To Target SARS >VPHM NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--ViroPharma Inc. (VPHM) hopes to find the specific inhibitors that target the virus responsible for severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, said Mark McKinlay, vice president of the company's research and development. The company is working with the Defense Department to screen various compounds, McKinlay said in a CNBC interview Thursday. Wearing a mask over the mouth and nose could help, McKinlay said. Viruses tend to be transmitted by aerosols or by touching the eyes and mouth. The mask would keep people from touching their noses.
