But I tell you, I get real annoyed when I read stuff like what we did supporting Saddam in the 80s This is just living in the real world; there were two regimes at war, neither of which could we stand, and we picked the one that was the lesser of two evils at the time to side with (actually, the one who had least recently been a problem for us). From our perspective, if we could help one win that is one fewer horrible governments in the world we have to deal with. We deal with dictators every day; but only on occasion do we see it as advantgeous and proper to get rid of one.
