Fannie Mae expects core business earnings to continue to increase in 2003, although at a growth rate below the above-average trend rates of 2002 and 2001. Projects net interest margin will move lower in 2003 as the benefits from the actions it took during 2002 and 2001 to lower debt costs begin to diminish. Anticipates some increase in its effective average guaranty fee rates because of recent pricing trends. Also believes that while credit expenses may move higher in 2003, they will remain near historically low levels
