That remains to be seen. There are no garuntees that the government that replaces Saddam Huessein will be much better. It's hard to believe that they could be much worse. But, that region of the world has a bad history and it wouldn't surprise me if the new Iraqi government starts using some of the same repressive tactics as other governments in the region. The major difference being that the new Iraqi government will be a U.S. client, while Saddam Huessein is an adversary who we once supported.
