UAL is past "deathwatch".

AMR is standing in line... and so are a few other airlines.

But, that's no big surprise: it's a notoriously cyclical business.

(Do you know... that in the ENTIRE history of the American airline business, if one averages all the profitable years together with the loss-making years, the industry as a whole has posted net losses?)
