If you read point five, it's about letting the Iraqis do things their way rather than hovering and imposing our image and likeness. I don't see a contradiction.
So you REALLY believe we're going to put 100,000 American troops under foreign command for a decade? Because that's what that requires.

The 2 POVs are not reconcilable. Either we win the war and go home, or we have, say a year of occupation, set up a gov't, and start pulling out then.

But there is no way we will give them 100,000 US troops to do with as they will. The author id on hallucinogens if he believes that.

It's hardly a smear job.
I would say the terminology used and the phraseology are rather loaded.
