well, he has shown himself to be very well read and rich in experience to say the least. opinionated? absolutely. confident too. i think he and i would likely get along for all of about 1 minutes, and then we would start to get on each others nerves.

but...

i appreciate his unyielding sense of humour (i am sure that to eric, it does not matter who gets it) and his willingness to share knowledge and opinion. there is a pretty wide spectrum of personalities here at si, and i am hard pressed to dislike any of them. most everybody eventually grows on me.

if a forum was meant to only attract like minds that share the same views... well it would get dry in a hurry.

take care
martin

Yes, it is a real real frustration that just when you thought you knew everything and were the only one who had that right, to meet another person who claimed the same thing. Imitators, in this case, make the most insecure form of flattery. Two gods cannot exist. The resulting dust-up would destroy the universe.

I sympathize.

But take heart, I am now officially totally supportive of ALL trashy gold stocks. The more silly their claim of world domination and riches, the more I like them.

So you can now stop hating me.

So when does the tour bus for the Gullibility Convention stop? I have decided to be master of ceremonies for the convention, and guide to the home of the stars. First stop will the cemetary where Myer Rush, Murray Pezim, Bernie Cornfeld, and Mike De Guzman are buried. We will then drive by the homes of Ivan Boesky and Mike Millikan. Selected paragraphs from the life of John Felderhof will be read, as well as some anecdotes and personal well wishes from beyond the grave from Guy LaMarche. A stop is scheduled at the Enron Headquarters, where tea and crumpets will be served and a speach by Bernie Ebbers will be given. The theme is inspirational. "Keep on Believin'" and, "It's the Accounting, Stupid."

I think a former head of an organized crime syndicate said it best in a blacked-out interview with CBC not too long ago. "We would be nowhere in crime and swindling if it were not for the absolute flexibility of the government exployees who regulate us, and the almost infinite credulousness of the common man."
