This is the slow period for movies, they rollout the mediocre films in the spring and fall.

I went to see View from the top' last week, had more the quality of a tv sitcom, the threatre was pretty empty, the most exciting thing was some idiot teenager was carrying on a 10 minute conversation on her cell phone in the row below me and she wouldn't stop with even a mild suggestion, so it got a bit louder --gg--

I saw a review of "the core" this week that said it was a snore, but i liked some of the action previews and thought it might be a good popcorn movie, this is Armageddon gone down under. It's not a snore, it's not bad, a fun sci-fi movie, certainly better than some of the Sci-fi stuff put out by George Clooney or Will Smith and Tommy L. Jones last summer -g-

You all must see "The Pianist", if you haven't seen it yet.

I know there has been a lot of chatter about the Oscars, some believed Daniel Day Lewis got robbed, some feel that they shouldn't have given a child molester a director's award. Some feel that 'Chicago' was just glitz.

Adrien Brody did well deserve the award as did Daniel Day Lewis. IMO "The Pianist" deserved the best picture of the year award as did 'Chicago', and i'm not a big fan of musicals, but Chicago was special.

IMO "The Pianist" was the best picture of the year.
