The theory that the Iraqi people would rise up under the gun muzzles of the oppressor when the Coalition planes first flew over was a stretch. The far more developed and culturally-mature Germans and Japanese has to crawl out of the rubble and see the sunlight for the first time in a generation before they could begin to build their modern nations. The Iraqs, Iranians, Syrians, etc., will have to do the same. But, when the turkey shoot is over with the Republican Guard, and it's down to terrorists only, the population of the Iraqi cities still partially held by those terrorists will assist with key information, so the fumigation can go forward. This is taking place in Basra, and the Brits are slowly cleaning out a city of 1.2 million...
