Mubarak: our relations with Syria cannot be shaken
Egypt-Syria, Politics, 4/1/2003

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak has described Egyptian- Syrian relations as historic and strategic that cannot be shaken.

In statements he made yesterday during his meeting with the "field third army," President Mubarak warned against the grave implications of the American- British aggression against Iraq on the region and the world as a whole. He called for immediate halt of this war and the return back to the UN in order to reach a peaceful solution for the Iraqi crisis.

Mubarak held the US and Britain responsible for pushing towards the aggression against Iraq despite the success of the UN inspectors in performing their duties objectively and effectively. He called for evacuating the area from all mass destruction weapons especially the "Israeli nuclear and chemical arsenals which constitute a threat to the security of the region and the world."
