No, it's not ok. Because I don't want other countries "taking those steps". I don't care if Saddam has WMD, as long as he doesn't use them. Unlike you, I am no fan of mind reading pretexts wars- because any madman could use them as a pretext (and I would argue that our own Pres is a little lad to have attempted this.) I do not believe we were in danger from Saddam. There is no evidence that we were. I know you wish there were. and the administration certainly tried hard to prove there was, but there simply wasn't- that's why they had to use the sad pretext of "liberation" as well. Let me tell you, any country can wish to "liberate" it's neighbor. I think Saddam wished to "libertate" the Kuwaitis from their repressive ruler. Lots of people want to "liberate" other countries- but I don't think "libertating" countries from their own rulers is a very good idea- not without wide world approval.

Fox news again...sheez. If fox news were to "report" that martians have landed you would instantly take it as gospel.

Junior's promise to protect us from Afganistan is "no longer operative".
washingtonpost.com

"If the war lasts a long time, then these people in Taliban and al Qaeda will be reinforced here in Afghanistan and grow," said Mohammad Sadeq, 42, who works for the transportation authority in Jalalabad.

"Before the fighting in Iraq we were very happy and grateful to Americans. Now we are thinking they have cheated the people of Afghanistan. They have promised they will rebuild our roads, they will pay our salaries. And in these two years we have seen nothing from Americans.
