"I actually think this may be the regime's way of beginning to signal that it is ready to give up as Saddam is either severely injured, dead, or non compos mentis. The Saddam shills have had enough. "

You may be onto something. One would have to be preternaturally stupid to take that speech seriously, and they did not attempt an excuse for his failure to appear.......

C2,
On WABC radio in nyc there is late night show which is moderate right but hawkish on the war. They swear that cia sources have assured them that saddam and sons are indeed dead or at least mortally wounded. They cant understand why US is so reluctant to go with that story. This info minister is the one who has been very visible over the past week, correct? Where is the Defense Minister, and Tarik. Both have been seen live i believe a few days ago. You just have to pray that someone has the balls to surrender their forces before they are annihilated and end the civilian carnage. Who is in charge now? mike
PSNewsday journalists just crossed into jordan--both are fine. Sorry Jesse, no trip for you.
