What other countries are Bush and the rest of his Attilla the Hun advisors planning on invading and occupying? I hope this is it. This war against Iraq is crazy enough. I hope they don't go after the whole Middle East. It could start WW3.

Mr Dipy: You are probably right in your assertion that the goal of this current administration is to bring democracy to the region. Just as the goal of the administration of the great Ronald Reagan was to bring democracy to Eastern Europe, a goal that was achieved and led to the greatest bull market in history (with an accompanying bubble).

As former CIA director Woolsey said yesterday, we are already in WWIV

cnn.com

And just as the people who lived under the communists in Eastern Europe are among the staunchest supporters of USA efforts in Iraq, (including people like myself who as a child saw Soviet tanks go through my hometown of 4000 people), so too will the liberated people of Iraq be among the most vocal supporters of the US.

Given its enormous wealth, in five to ten years, the standard of living for the average Iraqi will be similar to the average American, hardly sowing the seeds of terrorism. And with it will come the collapse of other repressive regimes whose leaders will no longer have the US to blame for their shortcomings.

On a personal note, as amazing as it may seem, Jock's father ran Rumsfeld's first political campaign in Niles Township,(Illinois) for Mr. Rumsfeld when Mr. Rumsfeld first ran for the Republican nomination for Congress in 1962.

On the other hand, it looks like Jock's picks for April 2002 through April 2003 will be a less than impressive epitath.

Mr. Dipy: Since it is clear that this year, your picks will beat Jock's last picks, I went to your personal profile, and I was preparing a message of congratulations on your victory. (Your stock picks are down 25% on the year, and Jock's picks are down 50%). When I went to your personal profile, I noticed that you had posted a number of messages on this thread.

You have attacked Bush's character a number of times, often referring to his past lapses. In Chicago, two of the most vituperative critics of Bush's personality and past were Gene Siskel and Tim Wigel. Siskel was of course, the famous movie critic, and Tim Wigel was a sports announcer for major TV stations in Chicago. Both men were very bright, very smarmy, and very self righteous. 20 years ago, when Milo Hamilton was supposed to get the job of announcing the Cubs games, it was announced at a press conference that Harry Carey would replace the long-time Cubs announcer. Milo Hamilton was at the press conference, and had a visibly stunned look on his face when Carey's appointment was announced. For about a week, Tim Wigel made fun of Hamilton on local TV. He would even go up to Hamilton to poke fun of his stunned look at the press conference.

Since I was in Poland, how do I know of this. Because when I was first married to Jock, Tim Wigel was fired, and Jock remembering Wigel's cruelty called Hamilton, who was by then an announcer in Houston. Hamilton called back, and left a message on our answering machine proclaiming his great joy over Wigel being fired.

Wigel's college roommate was Siskel, who also let it be known of his great dislike of Bush. Both Wigel and Siskel went to Yale with Bush. Like virtually all self righteous liberals they let all of Chicago know just how stupid Bush was, and they gleefully recounted his personal shortcomings including his use of alcohol.

And what has happened since then? In the year 2003, George Bush is the leader of a very moral war to liberate the people of Iraq and the people of the Middle East Both Wigel and Siskel are both dead. Interestingly, both died of brain cancer almost within a year of each other. Most people in Chicago have suggested that there may be a link to drug usage during their college years. What a horrible way to die.

So while it looks like George Bush has the opportunity to have the last laugh against his two former antagonists, the fact is that you will never hear the same sort of mean spirited comments from Bush about Siskel and Wigel that you heard from these two men.

Is my comment mean spirited? Yes, and what people like you don't get is that this kind of comment is the type that more often comes from liberal--the gossipy psychoanalytical attack on a conservatives character. The liberals did it with Ronald Reagan, and they are doing it with Bush.

And people like you are part of that crowd--the passive aggressive crowd who feel free in launching a camouflaged attack on other people's character by expressing "genuine" concern for a person's so-called psychological weakness.
