The arabs probably like us least, or dislike us most. But make no mistake that they don't like any of us infidel imperialists, prior or current. They remember very well the takeover from the Ottomans after WWI when they were denied self-rule by Britain-France. They don't like the Russians much for the same reasons re: Chechnya. They seem more likely to make alliance with asians against western culture.

Given destabilized regimes in Venezuela, Nigeria, and to a lesser extent Columbia, and the need for Mexico to ameliorate the damage our economic problems are causing them, there wouldn't seem to be any reason to use the Euro as a transition device. Our risky adventure over there could end up being a lightning rod for Islamic producers to attack us and Europe economically. I can't help but wonder if our right-wing geniuses at PNAC have even thought about any of this. Maybe Dick Cheney and Barbara Bush have secretly developed a commercially viable cold-fusion process. Ya think? -g-
