From the Media Notes column in today's Post:

Finally, blogger Chris Mooney finds the antiwar movement floundering:

"This Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll contains a pretty striking finding. When asked, 'Do you have a generally favorable or unfavorable opinion of anti-war protestors?', Americans responded as follows: 23% favorable, 63% unfavorable, and 14% not sure. This is even worse than I thought it would be.

"Now, it seems to me that if you're an anti-war protester, and you see numbers like this, you have to ask yourself: Is shutting down traffic in the middle of New York City really doing any good? Is the cause of world peace furthered by what I'm doing? Or am I just strengthening and confirming the belligerent views of the rest of the country?

"I'm not saying you shouldn't protest when there's a war on: I myself would have hit the streets at some point to protest Vietnam. But I also think a strong case can be made that the current protesters aren't doing a lot of good right now – that, in fact, they're hurting the liberal cause."

Wonder why those numbers haven't gotten more attention.
