1) I'm not running for office. Good thing. Because only a few percent of the population could be fairly called far right. Just like only a few percent of the population could be fairly called far left. So you're alternative would be to lie or be defeated. And if you lied, it would come back to haunt you and you could get nothing done. 2) I have been watching the left wing enemy attack America for far longer than you have been around. And I don't appreciate an "E" coming out in the middle of a war and giving aid and comfort to the enemy, even if it thinks that all it's doing is "disputing Bush". There's a problem with that. It's this: Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. The fact is that it takes more than simply calling for a change of government policy or action to commit treason. That has long been established in American law. Abraham Lincoln vociferously opposed the Mexican War WHILE IT WAS BEING FOUGHT! Was he a traitor? That said, I agree with you that it would be better were the anti-war types to simply shut up until this is done. The war has started in spite of their protests and it will be fought until it is won or until another election is held, Bush loses, and a new President extricates those troops. Their protests will not change that. Treason was intentionally defined in the Constitution itself- -the only criminal statute that received that "honor". The reason was that "treason" was a favorite charge of the English kings against whom we rebelled. The Framers did not wish to give an American President and/or Congress the opportunity to revive those abuses. 3) "E" can protest all it wants, but, let's say I "have a policy dispute" with "E". Policy disputes are fine. I have much the same "policy dispute" with her. Let me remind you, though, that someone is going to have A LOT of crow to eat on the other side of this and we don't know who it will be yet. Suppose no chem or bio weapons are found? Suppose a few million Muslims from other countries pour into Iraq and we are still caught in full scale war at election time? And we have repeated acts of domestic terrorism such as 911 and those the Israelis suffer here at home? Suppose your wife or kids are killed in one of those terrorist attacks? How smart is this going to look then? The Marxist/Leninist anti-American left is at war with America A small part of the American left is Marxist/Leninist. The great majority is not. Some of it is anarchist, a sect I always thought of as rightwing. Some of it even claims to be libertarian. And some of it is about where the middle of the British opinion spectrum is. Are they traitors too? They must be defeated and purged politically and socially Purged how? Violently? I'll be on the other side of the barricades from you. There are a billion of them, just for starters, and I don't think they will go quietly. At this point you start running serious risk of the US being defeated. And even without that, if this is what you mean, you are proposing genocide on a scale that makes A. Hitler a penny ante piker. You know what you remind me of: Republicans who used to give away the country to the Marxist/Leninist anti-American DOMESTIC ENEMY to preserve the Senate Barber Shop Quartet. You know what you remind me of? Anti-choice CA Republicans such as Simon or Huffington who think they can win statewide in a state that is heavily pro-choice. What would you prefer in the US Senate? Boxer and Feinstein or a couple of Republicans who vote with Bush 70%-90% of the time?
