<Very white of you > Now, now, let's be fair. Those nations are semi-white, sort of a mottled brown/black/yellow on a white background, steadily melting into a universal deep golden off-white. Actually, most of the Canadians I've met are not white.

I wasn't thinking of race, I was thinking of how I did not want to be in a larger political union with the French, the Germans, the Belgians, etc. Last I knew, they were white. Also, the last I knew, there was substantial Commonwealth immigration into Canada, the UK, and Australia. Certainly American society is multi- racial. Finally, the additions I alluded to would have been from the Commonwealth, such as India and the Bahamas, depending upon the degree of political stability and dedication to democratic institutions they had demonstrated. I just did not take the time to go through and evaluate candidates......
